The ClearSky Medical Diagnostics (CSMD) team recently enjoyed a successful trip to China, introducing technologies that make the diagnosis and monitoring of neurodegenerative conditions both easier and more reliable.
Dr Stephen Smith (ClearSky’s Chief Scientific Officer) and Dr Stuart Jamieson (Chief Clinical Advisor at CSMD) met up with Professor Chen, a leading specialist in Parkinson’s Disease, at Ruijin Hospital in Shanghai.
The North Campus of Ruijin Hospital is tasked with improving healthcare care access for local residents in the rural area in Shanghai and has adopted the ClearSky LID-Monitor – a monitoring system for Parkinson’s.
During the visit, which coincided with the 200th anniversary of the discovery of Parkinson’s Disease, ClearSky also presented at a workshop at the British Consulate General in Shanghai organised in collaboration with the Department for International Trade.
The workshop was designed to help raise awareness of Parkinson’s Disease among non-healthcare professionals with a product presentation and demonstration session for keen investors and business partners.
Dr Stephen Smith said: “It was fascinating to meet with Professor Chen and exchange our experiences of how Parkinson’s and other neurodegenerative diseases are diagnosed and treated. It’s wonderful that we are able to introduce our technology to the benefit of patients in China with Parkinson’s and related neurodegenerative diseases.”
“We are also thankful to the Department for International Trade for allowing us to host a workshop at their premises, that saw more than 50 people taking part.”
